I don’t know. I got a new moderate size 1080P TV to use with my One, but for all that the textures and lighting effects might come off nicer in 4K, it probably makes the imperfections stand out. Given that unrealism-making imperfections still sneak through on 1080P and will require another order of magnitude in console power to bring down appreciably, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Hmmm, much to consider. i will only be playing Forza, Fallout and maybe battlefield 4.

\waiting for PC master race comment any minute.

I have likely chosen this instead because building a computer for myself is directly selfish, buying a new TV and a console is about 50/50.

I can still change my mind on this, but I haven’t found a roof rack, RTT, or ARB fridge for reasonable cost.

Also, could get a new bumper for the disco butttttt, that doesn’t aid in the functional end goal of overlanding camping.

Since I live in Norway I have a feeling I can’t help you with any links, but as far as I know the only manufacturer that makes OLED-TVs is LG. Superior levels of black on them though.

4k in my opinion is only really worth it on a monitor (where you’re close to the screen) or on a TV over 60”

The 4K quality will definitely make it easier to identify the drivatar of the complete idiot who flies up on the inside to t-bone you at turn 7 when playing in career mode.

Otherwise you’d be better off spending the money on something to distract your family so that you can play in peace. (WOMAN! I’m on the last lap of the B-Class enduro without rewinding once! That idiot in the S7 has nearly creamed me every lap! I can barely keep my self-mis-tuned car on the track. Please, I beg you, don’t come in here to ask if I can take out the garbage!!!)

The way I see it, it will probably take at least until the next console generation for 4K to really make that much sense in terms of what the console can do, and it will take at least part of that time to make a 4K TV add up from a financial standpoint. Until the prices come down a bit (probably about 2 years’ worth from now, or more), picking between a smallish 4K and a big 1080 is the order of things, and for a lot of gaming, DVD/BluRay watching, etc. the 1080 makes more sense.

4K is little more than a marketing scam at this point. There’s no content for it, and being forced to upscale everything will end up making it look worse than if you had just bought a 1080p television. I’m still running a 720p 32” HDTV because trust me, resolution really isn’t the limiting factor in how good a game looks right now, it’s poly count, lighting, textures, etc.
